The Donna Review
I really don’t think I have ever had a great Portuguese wine. When I was in Portugal many years ago- I remember only drinking the house wines – which went well with Sword Fish. So was not expecting too much from this as it is only a 2020. But with a smokey bouquet – not offensive at all. Easy to drink and the undertones of berries come through nicely. This is a really lovely easy to drink wine.

Man with no palate Review
This is one of the nicest wines we have had for some time. It is not perfect but at $16 do yourself a favour and go and buy a bottle or two. It is a lovely blend of various varieties and very easy to drink. better than some $30 & $40 wines we have had recently and I will definitely buy another one.

Coutada Velha Signature 2020 Bottle Label Description
Vinho Regional Alentejano same as Tempranillo. This wine has its origin in a Coutada at Herdade de Mata, inside the region. A Coutada is a private reserve where for decades the mission was to preserve and enhance the biodiversity of the region. This biodiversity is reflected on this wine by its complexity and structure. On the other hand, the private and exclusive character of a Coutada is reflected thanks to the mobility and the superior quality of this wine. A blend of Aragonez, Trincaderia and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties, aged for 8 months in French oak barrels.
Matches fat meat, game, oven fish dishes or on its own.
Ideal temperature 14oc – 16oc
