The Donna Review
I do like a Merlot so was excited to try this Dan Murphy Member offer as I has previously seen it on the shelf.
It is smooth but there is an acidicness to this, which I don’t expect from a Merlot. So maybe not the best Merlot I have had and not sure I would pay the extra for this.

Man with no Palate Review
We drink so much Shiraz that sometimes we almost forget there are other options. Before we started out reviewing wines and before Shiraz became such a dominant wine, we used to drink a fare amount of Pinot Noir and Merlot. And for a wine under $12 and a Merlot to boot, this is not a disappointing wine. It is quite rich for a Merlot and goes well with chilli.

Elephant in the Room Whoping Merlot 2018 Bottle Label Description
Big wines with lots of oak are increasingly hard to find. Odd fact is, winemakers hate talking about them and yet drinkers love these. There’s a jolly good reason: They’re lip-smacking delicious wines before the style police took control.
We think it’s the elephant in the room – or more accurately – cellar. This Merlot embraces everything that was great about gorgaituan wines before the style police took control. A monster of a mouthful it’s big, rich and smooth (oh so smooth).
